About the Artist
As a conceptual artist with a graphic design background I work mostly with color and design. I see beauty in what is around me expressing ideas and concepts.
When engaged in a lengthy project or a still life subject, I aim to
produce a deep and captivating image, remaining inquisitive thought out
the photography process. Each image flows thru me as it is a process of letting go and revealing.
Our homes serve as sanctuaries for our peace of mind. Creating a warm home is nourishment for the soul.
I want you to feel something when you view my work. I have 2 very special projects that are both spiritual, Polaroids and Angels.
Prints
At a very young age, my mom, sister and I were homeless. Taken in by strangers, this never left me. We left the home we knew to escape and found a new home in California on a Greyhound bus.
My desire to create beauty in our homes has been about simple design with emotion. If you cannot feel something, then I have failed. I bring to you my heart and years of mastery and dedication thru photography with over 30 years of commitment.
Polaroids
There are five 20x24 polaroid cameras in the world. The camera came to San Francisco and I jumped at the chance to use it. I had the camera for one hour. Each original is on polaroid instant film. The theme is spiritual. At the time it was most controversial for a woman shooter to show men almost nude. There are 8 originals.
Angels From The Light
In 1997, I embarked on a profound two-year journey across Europe, guided by something beyond my understanding. Traveling with my mother and stepfather through Italy and Germany, I created a series of angel photographs—a project I knew nothing about when I began, yet felt compelled to pursue.
Each image is a double exposure, capturing unexpected moments of light that I could never have planned. Shot on rare, super-grainy film no longer in production, these photographs are pure accidents of light—no digital manipulation, just the magic of the medium itself. I hand-crafted the costumes and brought hand-made wings across the ocean in a bicycle box.
Two weeks after completing this project, my mother passed away. For ten years, I couldn't bear to look at these photographs. I didn't understand the message. But now I see this wasn't coincidence—it was a spiritual journey from darkness to light, a transformation I'm finally ready to share.
